A lot

Holy Buckets!  (Please tell me someone out there watched The Voice this season and witnessed Nicholas David say this phrase? It’s definitely my new fave. Call me weird…I’m cool with it) I have SO MUCH to blog about that it kind of overwhelms me and in the spirit of NOT being overwhelmed during my Christmas break I am going to do my favorite blog write up on my favorite little person and save the rest for another day. You hear this time and time again but this is late…she turned 5 months on the 19th of December…and I actually did take these pictures close to on time, it just didn’t get blogged about!Image

I love to read Ann Voskamp’s blog and the word she has today is especially good. It is titled, “The truth about Sandy Hook: Where is God when bad things happen?”  It’s pretty long but if you have time, give it a read. Click on the link above

Hallelujah

Today during our worship service the 11:11 band did all Christmas music-and it was pretty amazing. It was a good for the soul kind of hour in the craziness that comes this time of year. Only music. Only songs that were pointing to the reason that we celebrate this season. This one particular song was sung today-and as it was sung it brought tears to my eyes. Not just because it was sung beautifully-because it was-but because of the words. The meaning. The reminder of why we celebrate Christmas. It’s not for the presents-as much as the selfish me loves them. It’s not to make everyone else happy-as much as that makes my heart happy, too. It’s not for the cold weather and hot cocoa (or pretend cold weather if you are here in Houston)-as much as I would just drink it in if it ever did get that cold here.  Christmas is a wonderful time of year,we can spend it with the ones we love  and with ones that we might not get to see as often as we would like. We celebrate because Christ came and forever changed the world. Hallelujah. That is why it is “the most wonderful time of the year”. My prayer is that I will not get so caught up in Christmas shows, wrapping presents, going here and there that I forget why we celebrate and the miracle of it all.

Here With Us

It’s still a mystery to me,
That the hands of God could be so small,
How tiny fingers reaching in the night,
Were the very hands that measured the sky,

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Heaven’s love reaching down to save the world,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King, Here with us,
You’re here with us,

Still a mystery to me,
How His infant eyes have seen the dawn of time,
How His ears have heard an angels’ symphony,
But still Mary had to rock her Savior to sleep,

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Heaven’s love reaching down to save the world,

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King, Here with us,
You’re here with us,

Jesus the Christ born in Bethlehem,
A baby born to save, to save the souls of man,

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Heaven’s offering sent down to save the world,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King, Here with us,

Oh, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Heaven’s offering sent down to save the world
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King, Here with us
You’re here with us, You’re here with us
You’re here with us…
